Rain has been falling at Fontana this week and today ends the chance for a win for the Hendrick Motorsports 5 and 88 car. Casey Mears got loose and collected Dale JR along the way. Sam Hornish JR got wedged under the back of Mears putting the 5 car on its side before the 77 burst into flames.
The cars were off the track for over an hour before Jimmie Johnson and Jeff gordon inspected the track with officials and decided it was time to go green.
