The Chase for the NASCAR Nextel Cup is over. Once again, Hendrick Motorsports and driver Jimmie Johnson have risen to the top of the pack to show both excellent driving skills and team ownership. Johnson duplicated his teammate, Jeff Gordon with back-to-back championships in his sixth NASCAR season. This was not something magical that happened or jumped out of a hat. Out of their four Nextel Cup teams, three of them are locked into The Chase and the fourth will finish not too far behind. Hendrick Motorsports has dominated the field for the 2007 NASCAR schedule. With a total of 12 wins and 11 poles between the teams, Hendrick Motorsports is the team to beat this year. After just five races, Jeff Gordon has taken over the points lead and has never left. Controversy at Talladega
February 20, 2008The finish was one that every NASCAR fan hates. Finishing under caution. And if that wasn’t enough one of NASCAR’s most hated drivers ended up in victory lane. Jeff Gordon started in first and ended there as well. 43 drivers race around Talladega Super Speedway, the longest track on the NASCAR circuit, in hopes of winning the 9th race of the season. A fairly uneventful race that attempted to finish in “over drive”, a green, white, checker finish, but was ended with a caution. READ MORE
